Import Fees Calculator USA: Estimate Duty, MPF, HMF, and Landed Cost
Estimate US import fees for commercial shipments, including customs duty, MPF, HMF, Section 301, bond cost, and landed-cost line items.
US import fees depend on product, origin, and shipment mode
An import fees calculator for the USA should start with three facts: what the product is, where it was made, and how it ships. Those three inputs determine whether you only owe normal duty or whether MPF, HMF, Section 301, or other trade remedies need to be added.
TariffCheck's import tariff calculator is designed for this full-stack estimate.
Fee map
| Fee | Main input needed |
|---|---|
| HTS duty | Product classification |
| Section 301 | Country of origin and HTS code |
| MPF | Formal-entry entered value |
| HMF | Ocean shipment and merchandise value |
| Bond | Entry type and bond status |
| Broker/admin | Filing method |
| Domestic delivery | Warehouse destination |
Example import-fee stack
A China-origin product with a low base duty may still be expensive if Section 301 applies. A Vietnam-origin product with the same invoice value may avoid Section 301 but still owe MPF and possibly HMF.
That is why a useful calculator should compare total landed cost, not only tariff percentage.
What is the difference between import fees and landed cost?
Import fees are the government and filing charges. Landed cost is broader: it includes product cost, freight, insurance, duty, import fees, broker cost, and delivery to your warehouse.
